Baron Davis

Baron Davis was just recently traded from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Mo Williams and Jamario Moon. Baron Davis was just starting to get happy at the Clippers because him and Blake Griffin made a good duo. Now Baron goes from being on a promising team, to a team with no hope at all. To make it plain and simple, the Cavs are terrible. Baron Davis is not enough to turn that team around and he is not going to go all out because he is not going to be happy. He is a good player but he cannot do it all by himself. If he had a team around him, he wouldn't be a bad piece to the puzzle but the Cavs are hurting bad. Not only is he not happy but Blake Griffin is highly disappointed that he is gone. They had a good relationship on and off the court so he does not seem to happy this trade either. I am just really interested to see how Baron does at the Cavs and I am wondering if he will actually make a difference or not.

Williams to the Nets

With the disappointed of the Nets not aquiring Carmelo Anthony, they recently traded with the Utah Jazz to get point guard Deron Williams. In the trade, the Nets traded Derrick Favors, Devin Harris, 2 first round draft picks as well as cash considerations. Even though Deron Williams is one of the best point guards in the leauge, I think they got rid of way to much to get him. Favors and Harris are solid players and they could get very good first draft picks who are also younger. The Nets gave up way to much for one player and I think that might hurt the team.

3bler

Jon Diebler is a 6'6 guard who plays for The Ohio State University. This Thusday, Feb. 20 he will be playing the Purdue Boilermakers in hope of breaking the Big-Ten record for most made 3-pointers. Right now he has a total of 331 made 3-pointers which puts him 1 behind the leader. Everyone is anticipation to see him reach this record because this is really memorable espically looking at Diebler's past. When he was a freshman, he was shooting 29%  behind the arc and now his senior year he is up to 48%. That shows everyone that he worked really hard in the gym to get to where he is and he won't stop till he reaches his goal. All we can do now is wait and watch.

New Manny

Last season when we saw Manny Ramirez play, he was over-weight, out of shape and he didn't seem to be motivated. Now he getting back to his old self. He has been hitting the gym as hard as ever. He is there very early and he goes there highly motivated. He wants to lose weight so he has been seeing a nutritionist who has been helping him with his goal. I am really glad to see Manny changing his ways. For the past couple years I was really disappointed in him because he was not caring about the game of baseball like he used to when he was younger. Now I think he starting to care again and he is doing the necessary things to get back to his old self. I just cannot wait for the season to start and to see how does.

The Vikings banking on the lottery

The Minnesota Vikings has found a very unique way to help pay for their new stadium. They are in a partnership with the Minnesota State Lottery and the NFL on a scratch off ticket with the Vikings theme and logo. The scratch off ticket is $10 and they have already made 12 million dollars which makes it one of the most successful lottery games in the state. They will use this money to help pay for the new stadium that could cost around $900 million dollars. The Vikings did a very good job about thinking of this idea and they are making a very good profit. Even though the money is not gonna cover a large chunk of the price, it is still money and any bit helps. I think that working with the lottery is a great idea and I believe other teams should do the same thing in order to make more money and help out the organization.

Melo to the Lakers?

There has been a lot of talk recently saying that Carmelo Anthony might get traded to Los Angeles Lakers for Lakers center Andrew Bynum. Is this a good trade for Lakers? I would have to say yes. Bynum's knee injury has put him out for about 45 games this season so he has not been that beneficial to the team. Even though the Lakers look at  Bynum as someone who will take over the team when Kobe retires, I think that it is time to move on and get Anthony. He is a very skilled player and would fit well team. With Melo on the team the starting five will most likely be Bryant, Fisher, Anthony, Odom, and Gasol.  That is a very dynamic starting five and that team will go places.
